Casey Nelson

Coach

Casey Nelson attended the University of Georgia, where he majored in Film and Dramatic Arts. He spent his senior year studying theatre abroad at The University of London. Upon graduation, Casey moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. There, he landed roles in numerous high profile projects including Transformers, Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, and Jane the Virgin. 

 

In 2016, Casey wrote, produced and starred in the feature film The Last Treasure Hunt, which was acquired by Sony, and became a Top 25 most downloaded film on iTunes for three straight months. In 2021, Casey wrote and directed the film Black White and the Greys, which won ten awards on the festival circuit, including the Audience Choice Award at the legendary Sedona Film Festival. 

 

As an actor, Casey has studied numerous techniques including Meisner at Playhouse West, Stella Adler, and Stanislavski. Some of his teachers and mentors include James Franco, Brad William Henke, Risa Bramon Garcia, Chris Messina, and Kyle Chandler. Casey has been a working actor and acting coach for more than two decades


Some of Casey's students include actress Quinn Aune, who is currently playing young Nicole Kidman in the upcoming series Scarpetta, and young Anya Taylor-Joy in the new Apple series Lucky.  His other clients/students include actor Brad Benedict (series regular in THE OVAL), actress Gena Shaw (Dopesick, Mayor of Kingstown, Creepshow), and Nathaniel Oh (Series Regular Cobra Kai).
